This afternoon, the principal vote on the Slattery amendment
to kill the SSC was 280-150:  280 for Slattery against the SSC,
150 in favor of the SSC.  
 
     The project's next step is to go through markup in the
Senate Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, and then to
full Senate Appropriations.
